Killie won 2-1 at Clyde last weekend but a new-look side will face Ladbrokes Championship outfit Morton at Rugby Park on Saturday.

Clark wants to rotate his squad to ensure everyone is ready to hit the ground running when their Premiership campaign opens at home to Motherwell on August 6.

The former Newcastle player told his club’s website: “We have to get to the Motherwell game with most of my senior squad having the same amount of minutes and having been prepared properly for the league campaign.

“We have to do a balancing act in terms of the personnel but there will be quite a few changes to the game. Because it’s no good me getting to the Motherwell game and I only have 11 or 12 players who are match-fit.

“When it comes to that game I need to have all the players available to be selected at any time, whether it’s Motherwell or later in the league programme.”

Clark’s only injury absentee is teenage goalkeeper Devlin Mackay.
