Houston gets sevens call

Scotland 7s will travel to Dubai and South Africa for the next two legs of the HSBC Sevens World Series tomorrow with experienced Edinburgh centre John Houston among the 12-strong playing party.

The team also includes James Johnstone, the Currie centre, while Colin Gregor resumes his role as captain. James Fleming, who currently leads the 2012/13 HSBC Sevens World Series try table with eight, will also travel.

Head coach Phil Greening said: “We appreciate the opportunity to work with Edinburgh Rugby and bring a experienced and very physical sevens player into our squad. James [Johnstone] also has a lot of talent and we believe him being back in the international sevens
environment will be good for his development as a player. Thank-you to both pro-clubs for their support.”
