Fusaro sustained the damage during Sunday’s 19-11 loss to Toulouse in the Champions Cup.

The 25-year old went off after only 17 minutes of the contest and an MRI confirmed Glasgow’s worst fears.

Fusaro has been a key competent in the Warriors’ side since bursting through in the 2011/12 season.

He earned his first Scotland appearance earlier this year in the Calcutta Cup loss to England and signed a new two year contract extension the very next week.

News of his injury comes as part of a double blow for Warriors’ coach Gregor Townsend as Adam Ashe was ruled out for several weeks with a neck injury sustained on Scotland duty.

Townsend said: “Both Chris (Fusaro) and Adam (Ashe) have been playing really well and this is a setback for them.

“We wish them all the best with their rehab and look forward to welcoming them back into the squad in the New Year.”
