Elgin City's game called off due to dry pitch

Elgin City's home fixture against Cowdenbeath has been postponed thanks to 'continuous dry conditions' which have left a section of the pitch unplayable.

The club released a statement blaming “continuous dry conditions experienced in the local area over the summer” for the state of the grass, which was understood to have very little growth in some areas.

The match referee called the game off less than an hour before kick-off.
