The 28-year-old second-row-back-row has come a long way since turning out for Kirkcaldy, Aberdeen Grammar and Heriot’s in the Scottish club leagues earlier in his career. The man who has a clutch of Scotland Club XV caps to his name is continuing an Antipodean odyssey that has seen him play in Australia and New Zealand for a few years.

In that time he played some games for the Melbourne Rebels in Super Rugby, the southern hemisphere’s top competition and, during the 2018 campaign, played a major role in the Hurricanes run to the semi-finals of the competition, becoming a go-to man off the bench for the Kiwi side.

On moving to the Brumbies he said: “I am very grateful for the opportunity to join the Brumbies for the next two seasons, a club which has a rich history in Super Rugby and is renowned for producing some of Australia’s most talented rugby players.

“I can’t wait to link up with the team, working hard and look forward to settling into life in Canberra.”

The 2019 Super Rugby season kicks off in February and will feature 15 teams divided into three geographical conferences: the Australian Conference (four Aussie teams and the Japanese Sunwolves), the New Zealand Conference (five Kiwi teams), and the South African Conference (four South African teams and the Jaguars from Argentina).
