STIRLING County held on after a tense finale to record an away victory.
The visitors were five points up heading into the last minute and only a last ditch tackle by Patrick Nicol on Boroughmuir replacement Craig Bachurzewski stopped the home side from levelling.
Early on Boroughmuir went 9-0 up thanks to three Dougie Steele penalties, but a try and conversion from Shaun Treweek in the 16th minute got County into things.
Eight minutes before half-time Muir scored their first try through Jordan Edmunds and then Greg Cannie added another. One just before the break by County’s Scotland cap Chris Fusaro, pictured, and then a penalty by Treweek left things poised at 21-17 at the interval to Muir.
Two converted tries – from Danny Gilmour and Shaun MacDonald – put County ten points up and gave them a bonus point.
That was until a Steele try for Muir in the 73rd minute and then the late pressure, but David Adamson’s men held on to keep their good run going while the home side have now lost three in a row.
