Championship A & B: Falkirk win again

FULL-BACK Gordon McGuire scored two tries as Falkirk made it two wins from two in RBS Championship A with a 30-5 victory over Dalziel.

As well as the try double from McGuire, prop Drew Patelo and second-row Lawrence Miller also went over to help Falkirk secure the bonus point while stand-off Dan Ritchie and sub Logan Bonar shared the kicking points.

Falkirk are one of four unbeaten teams in the division, with Marr, Cartha Queens Park and Hamilton the other three.

Marr edged out Ardrossan Accies 37-35, Cartha won 52-0 at West of Scotland and Hamilton were 38-7 winners at Dumfries. Full-back Andy Wilson had two tries for Hamilton while skipper Andy Hill was also among the scorers as they secured a bonus point with six tries in total.

Whitecraigs defeated Greenock 35-16.

In RBS Championship B there was late drama at Stoneyhill as Musselburgh defeated Kirkcaldy 30-28. A try put the Fifers 28-27 up with minutes remaining, but scrum-half Danny Owenson managed to keep his cool to kick the winning penalty for the hosts.

Musselburgh are top as a result, and Jed-Forest and Lasswade are also unbeaten.

Stand-off Chris Laidlaw scored two late tries and 18 points overall as Jed beat Haddington 28-7.

Lasswade defeated Aberdeenshire 38-15 at Hawthornden while Howe of Fife shrugged off their opening day loss at Jed with a 61-10 win over Livingston. Hawick YM v Murrayfield Wanderers was off.
