Celtic fans protest with '˜Sack the Board' banners at Suduva match

Celtic fans have hit out at the club board and called for Peter Lawwell's head as they protested the Hoops' transfer business.

A section of the home support displayed two banners, one reading: “Celts for Change SOS. Back the team, sack the board. Lawwell out” while the other claimed: “Only Celtic plc can stop us doing 10 in a row.”

Fans are believed to be unhappy with the club’s failure to land John McGinn from Hibs, while Stuart Armstrong joined Southampton for £7 million.

Dedryck Boyata has been heavily linked with a move away from Parkhead while Moussa Dembele, left out of the team to face Suduva, has been the subject of interest from Ligue 1 side Lyon.

Some fans unfurled a banner at the Scottish Premiership match with Hamilton which read: “Dedryck Boyata - not fit to wear the jersey”.

The Belgian defender scored the only goal of the game as Celtic won 1-0.

Odsonne Edouard’s loan was made permanent as Celtic shelled out £9 million to Paris Saint-Germain for the striker’s services while Daniel Arzani has joined on loan from Manchester City.

Youssouf Mulumbu is expected to sign a two-year deal with the Hoops before the transfer deadline but parts of the Celtic faithful are disgruntled with the club’s activity in this window.
