Alasdair Strokosch staying with Perpignan

ALASDAIR Strokosch has ended any possibility of a return to Scottish rugby by signing on for another two years with Perpignan.

The 30-year-old flanker, and “Glengoyne Player of the South Africa Tour”, made a bold move from Edinburgh to Gloucester at 24 and became a success in the English Premiership. He made another bold turn last summer when leaving England for the Catalans of southern France and has become a firm favourite at Perpignan.

Edinburgh supporters were hopeful that he might return to the capital, but Strokosch said he was delighted to agree a two-year extension and club President Daniel Besson said he welcomed Strokosch’s deal as a key part of the club’s drive back to the French title.
