Adam Hastings to leave Glasgow Warriors for Gloucester - report

Adam Hastings looks to be on his way out of Glasgow Warriors after reportedly agreeing a deal to join Gloucester next season.

The stand-off is in the final year of his contract at Scotstoun but has turned down the offer of new deal in favour of a move to Kingsholm, according to Rugby Pass.

The news will come as a huge blow to Glasgow who are still reeling from Sunday’s 42-0 defeat by Exeter Chiefs in the Heineken Champions Cup.

The Warriors have lost a clutch of talented young players in recent seasons, the most notable being Finn Russell, Stuart Hogg and Jonny Gray.

Hastings, 24, is keen for another crack at the English Premiership after starting his professional career with Bath before moving to Glasgow in 2017.

He is currently injured after damaging his shoulder in Scotland’s Six Nations win over Wales in Llanelli in October.

Glasgow were recently linked with a move for the Munster stand-off Ben Healy, who is an Ireland Under-20 international but is Scotland qualified.

The Warriors have had a difficult start to the season, losing six of their eight Pro14 matches to lie second bottom of Conference A. They have been hit hard by injuries and the absence of their Scotland players during the extended international window.

It’s been a tough start for new coach Danny Wilson who will be reluctant to see Hastings leave.

His departure would leave Pete Horne and Brandon Thomson as the club’s remaining stand-offs.

Gloucester are on the lookout for a new fly-half, with Danny Cipriani expected to leave the club.
