Rugby: Sample saga

SCOTLAND second row Scott MacLeod admits he can relate to the situation two South African rugby players find themselves in today as they await the results of B samples following failed initial drug tests.

Two years ago MacLeod was in hot water for failing to declare he was taking a prescribed treatment for asthma, albeit it was ultimately accepted an honest error had been made.

Referring to the case of Chiliboy Ralepelle and Bjorn Basson, who tested positive for methylhexaneamine, which can be found in many foods, MacLeod said: "I don't know the ins and outs of it but I certainly feel for them if it's some kind of supplements they've been taking."
