Rugby: MacLean leads procession of medals from Sheffield

A BRILLIANT showing from Chloe MacLean led the way as numerous students from the Capital returned from the British Universities and Colleges (BUCS) Championships with medals.

Edinburgh University’s MacLean was untouchable on her way to individual karate gold in the women’s senior kumite karate (-50kg) in Sheffield, while she and her female team mates also dominated to win the women’s team kumite title.

Those results inspired other members of Edinburgh University’s karate section as Luke Robinson won the men’s novice kata, Diarmuid Lloyd won the men’s intermediate kata and Valerie Greitens won the women’s novice kata.
