Rugby: Lismore’s Blenkinsop gets ready to raise profile of rugby in Ghana trip
The 25-year-old will be based in Cape Coast in the south-west of the country. He will be involved in delivering coaching sessions to nearby clubs and schools, and promoting rugby.
The game is still less than a decade old in the West African country but the Ghana Rugby Football Union is working to develop its popularity. Blenkinsop will play his part towards achieving that objective when he travels on Monday as part of a project that has been arranged in a partnership between the Inch-based club, ProjectsAbroadPro and the Central/Western Ghana Rugby Association. Looking ahead to the challenge, he said. “I’m so excited to see how I manage in a different environment, and I fully expect that I shall be doing just as much learning as those I have the chance to coach.”
