Rugby League: Uphill struggle for Scots after Fiji stun France

SCOTLAND face a tough task to reach the semi-final qualifiers in the Rugby World Cup in Australia. After Fiji stunned France with a comprehensive 42-6 victory in their group clash yesterday, the Scots will face the fired-up islanders on Wednesday.

After the 36-18 loss to France, Scotland must win by 28 points to top Group B and progress to the semi-final qualifier against the Group C winners a week on Monday.

The emphatic win leaves Fiji – for whom Newcastle Knights winger Akuila Uate scored three tries – in command of the group ahead of Wednesday's showdown, while France's chances of progressing beyond the pool stages came to an end.
