Rugby: Jamie Sole treads in dad's steps

Jamie Sole has emulated his dad, former Scotland grand slam captain David, as a winner at Murrayfield in claiming the "try of the season" prize for Edinburgh Accies at the annual Scottish Rugby awards.

Other local winners were Lismore's John Grant (East regional player of the season), Broughton's Maggie Smith (women's national league) and Lasswade's Dave Cockburn (coach).

The winning try, which came at Hillhead/Jordanhill, was based on a forward drive, a break by Gavin Douglas and a 50 metre run by Iain Berthinussen before his offload put full back Sole in at the corner flag.
