Rugby: Edinburgh swoop for former England hooker Titterrell

EDINBURGH Rugby have signed 31-year-old former
England hooker Andy Titterrell on a one-year deal.

The Kent-born player made his name with Sale Sharks, where he earned his international recognition, before moving on to Gloucester and then Leeds Carnegie, his most recent club. He won five England caps between 2004-07 and was a member of the 2005 British and Irish Lions’ tour of New
Zealand under the leadership of Sir Clive Woodward.

After agreeing terms at Murrayfield, he said: “I’m absolutely delighted with the opportunity to represent a club like
Edinburgh Rugby in the
Rabo Direct Pro 12 and also the Heineken Cup. We’ve some big pre-season matches coming up, so my focus is on getting to know the guys in the squad, settling into the training routine at Murrayfield, and using these matches as a springboard to a big year.”
