Rugby: Canada role for Moffat

Former Stewart's/Melville rugby coach Graeme Moffat is preparing to take a step onto the representative ladder after being appointed asssistant to the Canada under-20 side for an international tournament in Georgia, starting this weekend.

Moffat, an ex-Currie centre who left Scotland last year to coach with Calgary Hornets, said: "In Georgia we will initially face the hosts as well as Japan and Zimbabwe.

"Although I still keep in touch with the Scottish scene it's a great opportunity to progress my coaching but the size of Canada has meant bringing the squad together early to prepare."
