Rowing: World silver for Stanning

Heather Stanning from Lossiemouth, along with her partner Helen Glover, took silver behind hosts New Zealand in the pairs final of the World Rowing Championships in New Zealand.

Their silver ahead of the fast-finishing USA defending champions and Australia was a terrific reward for a brave and positive race by Glover and Stanning.

It was the second Scottish medal from within the GB team so far, with Aberdeen's Kate Jones stroking the adaptive four to silver on Thursday.
