Tiger Woods fell off the pace at the BMW Championship in Carmel, California last night, allowing Fiji’s Vijay Singh and Northern Irishman Rory McIlroy to share the lead.
Fourteen-time major winner Woods dropped two shots over his first four holes, slipping to 10 under and tied for ninth in the process.
That left a clutch of players ahead of him, with overnight pacesetter Singh joined under 13 under by in-form USPGA champion McIlroy, who birdied the par-four fourth to trim a shot off his running score.
Americans Dustin Johnson and Ryan Moore were a shot off the pace on 12 under, with Phil Mickelson and European Ryder Cup pair Graeme McDowell and Lee Westwood all a shot further back on 11 under.
Padraig Harrington was alongside Woods on 10 under.
