Rodgie vows to show angry side in pool

DUNFERMLINE’S Craig Rodgie has vowed to show his aggressive side after starting his Paralympic career by just missing out on the 100m backstroke final.

The 22-year-old took to the pool at the Aquatics Centre for the first time yesterday, clocking a time of 1:07.03minutes to finish fourth in the final heat. However that wasn’t good enough to reach the final, the Scot ranking 12th overall less than a second away from the top eight.

Rodgie, who will return to the pool for the 200m freestyle tomorrow, said: “I have got a lot I can take from my swim in the 100m backstroke, I need to be a bit more aggressive. It was good but I was a bit disappointed with the time. I’ve got the 200m freestyle to come so fingers crossed I can make the final in that.”
