Rocks solid to keep hold of third spot

GLASGOW Rocks tightened their grip on third place in the BBL last night, coasting clear of bottom side London Capitals for a 106-81 win.

However, the hosts took a shock first-quarter lead before the Scots hit back to claim a 54-46 half-time cushion. Although London edged closer in the fourth period, Glasgow – who visit Guildford Heat this afternoon – stepped up a gear.

Rocks coach Sterling Davis has put all contract talks on hold to keep his team focused on winning the BBL play-offs, even though the American has seven players whose current deals expire in the summer. "The only thing I want this team focusing on is getting to the play-off final next month," said Davis.
