Robson wins

LAURA Robson reached the quarter-finals of the Australian Open girls' championship with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Cristina Dinu.

The British teenager beat her Romanian opponent in 67 minutes, converting four of seven break-point chances, and dropping her serve once.

The Briton, who saved three break points,

will now play the winner of the match between Russian Ksenia Kirillova and Ester Goldfeld of America in the last eight.

However, Robson and Sally Peers were defeated 6-4, 6-1 in the women's doubles quarter-finals by the No15 seeds Maria Kirilenko and Agnieszka Radwanska.
