Reid relishing South Africa double header

SCOTLAND Women's rugby captain Lynne Reid will hope to relive the experience of previous appearances against South Africa when she leads her side out at Lasswade this afternoon in a World Cup warm-up encounter.

Reid was a member of the invitational Nomads squad that beat the South Africans in Cape Town and Johannesburg in August 2008. As Scotland prepare to take on South Africa Women twice in seven days, she said: "South Africa were on a learning curve back then, but I remember them saying that they were going to put a lot resources into the ladies game and from what I have heard they are a useful outfit."

With 33 players battling it out for 26 places in the party for August's World Cup in England, Reid said: "We are really trying to improve physically before the World Cup. These matches will show us just how far we have come."
