Raymond Russell triumphs in Turkey

Raymond Russell dominated a field including double major winner John Daly as he romped to victory in the PGA of Europe's Beko Classic in Turkey.

The Prestonpans pro, who sealed a return to the European Tour a fortnight ago, continued his fine run of form with rounds of 69, 61 and 65 over the Antalya resort's Sultan and Pasha courses.

Russell, who also sealed the Allianz Tour's order of merit title last weekend, finished with a 19-under 195 and coasted to a four-shot win over Carl Suneson and Jamie Little.

Russell, 38, had been four shots off the pace after the opening round but the former Cannes Open champion came charging to the front with his dazzling 11-under 61 in round two which set him on the way to success.

Daly, the Open champion at St Andrews in 1995, hit rounds of 70, 68 and 71 for a five-under 209 and 15th place while former Ryder Cup player Andrew Coltart finished with a four-under 210 to share 16th.
