Ramsay finds form to sit two off lead

EUROPEAN TOUR: Richie Ramsay posted his lowest round of the season to grab a share of third, three behind playing partner Damien McGrane, in the Hassan Trophy in Morocco.

“I played some really good stuff and didn’t make any mistakes – just four birdies, including a nice putt on the last,” said the Aberdonian, who has missed two cuts in his five events so far this season but finished seventh in this tournament last year.

Steven O’Hara and David Drysdale are tied for 25th after 71s, one fewer than Stephen Gallacher, who produced the comeback of the day when he recovered for a quadruple- bogey 9 at the fifth by picking up five birdies in 10 holes.

Marc Warren, Gary Orr, George Murray and Scott Jamieson also opened with level-par 72s, Craig Lee shot 73 and Peter Whiteford had a 79.
