Rallying: Bogie seals fourth home title in a row

Scotland’s leading young rally star, David Bogie, re-wrote the record books by clinching his fourth successive Scottish Rally Championship with victory in the Merrick Stages.

The 25-year-old from Dumfries, co-driven by Hawick’s Kevin Rae in a Mitsubishi Evo IX, finished 11 seconds clear of the Subaru of Jock Armstrong (Castle Douglas). “This is just unreal,” said Bogie, who will switch from his all-conquering Mitsubishi to a mystery new car for the final round.

Mike Faulkner, from Kirtlebridge, took third place.
