Queen's Park 1 - 1 Albion Rovers: Chaplain keeps Albion alive

Queen's Park and Albion Rovers go into Saturday's second leg with the game very much in the balance after a draw at the National Stadium.

The home side took the lead in controversial fashion after 11 minutes when David Anderson's pass across the face of the visiting goal was returned by Martin McBride with the Coatbridge men convinced that the ball had gone out of play before Craig Smith swept home from close range. As monsoon conditions engulfed Hampden Albion Rovers began to think it was not going to be their night when, 18 minutes from time, Scott Chaplain delicately lifted a 20-yard shot over Strain only to see the ball strike the far post.

Chaplain had better luck ten minutes from time when Steven Canning's corner picked him out and he netted with a volley.
