Phil Godman and Alan MacDonald earn recalls for Edinburgh Rugby's clash against Ulster

SCOTLAND international duo Phil Godman and Alan MacDonald have been recalled to the Edinburgh Rugby side for the crucial Heineken European Cup clash with Ulster in Belfast.

Godman has recovered from a hip problem and takes over the stand off role tonight from Rory Hutton, who is not registered for European competition.

MacDonald has recovered from a virus at a time when Ross Rennie is still being phased back from knee damage. MacDonald will occupy the open-side flanker berth which saw him capped against Argentina last autumn.

On the bench, Nick De Luca has recovered from ankle damage and David Callam gets the nod ahead of Fraser McKenzie. Under European rules Edinburgh can include an extra sub, with prop Geoff Cross returning to the matchday squad.
