Paul Lawrie field unveiled

Paul Lawrie last night unveiled the majority of the field for his 54-hole Invitational event at Deeside next week.

The 1999 Open champion, who is currently nursing an injured foot, will headline a 66-strong line-up which has been bolstered by former European Open winner Kenny Ferrie.

A host of seasoned Tartan Tour campaigners, led by last year's order of merit winner Greig Hutcheon, will join a mixed field which is also set to feature European Challenge Tour winners Andrew McArthur and Eric Ramsay, female competitors Heather MacRae and Michele Thomson, and former Scotland amateur caps Paul O'Hara and Kevin McAlpine. Lawrie's nephew, Sean, has also been handed a tee-time.

A place in the following week's Scottish Hydro Challenge at Spey Valley for the leading non-exempt player who finishes in the top-three will give the contest an added edge.

"I'm really happy with the mix of players we have for the field," said Lawrie. "There's a nice balance of youth and experience."
