Party Line powers to cup triumph

PARTY Line and Joe Fanning romped to victory in the inaugural £25,000 Archerfield Cup at Musselburgh yesterday.

The 9-2 winner, third at Catterick just three days earlier, was equipped with a first-time visor as she saw off top-weight Tropical Beat by two and a half lengths. Fanning said: “She’s tough to come out again so soon and the step-up in trip by two furlongs was a big plus. The visor helped and she’s found her form again these last few runs.”

David Barron-trained juvenile Viva Verglas completed a hat-trick under Graham Gibbons when beating Back Lane by two and three-quarter lengths in the conditions race.
