Pamela Feggans boosted by strong finish

BANESTO TOUR: Ayrshire’s Pamela Feggans had a two-under-par 70 to finish joint 10th in the Spanish Banesto Tour event at La Penaza Golf Club, Zaragoza.

The Patna player has not had the best of luck since turning pro but shot improving rounds of 74, 73 and 70 for a one-over-par total of 217, birdieing the fifth, 11th and 16th with only one bogey, at the fourth, in her closing round. Feggans finished five shots behind the first-time pro winner, Marjet Van Der Graaf from the Netherlands who had scores of 71, 69 and 71 for five-under 211.

Carly Booth from Comrie, Perthshire, came into this event on a high, having scored her first pro win in France the previous weekend but only in her second round did she recapture that form. She had scores of 77, 69 and 74 for a total of 220 and a share of 20th place.

Booth had three birdies but a double bogey 6 at the fourth and three bogeys on the inward half.
