Jamie Murray knocked out of doubles at French Open

Jamie Murray and his partner Neal Skupski have missed out on a place in the semi-finals of the French Open.

The 13th seeds were beaten 6-4, 6-4 by German pair Andreas Mies and Kevin Krawietz, the defending champions, in the quarter-finals of the men’s doubles at Roland Garros.

The result ends British interest in the doubles at Roland Garros after Joe Salisbury and his American partner Rajeev Ram were beaten on Monday.

Murray and Skupski were unable to convert any of their five break points in the first set having been broken in the third game.

The Scotsman and the Englishman were also broken early in the second set and although they saved four match points on the Skupski serve to hold for 5-4 Mies and Krawietz served out to love to complete victory in one hour and 39 minutes.

Jamie’s younger brother Andy was knocked out of the singles in the first round last week.
