Noble Hatches plan for glory

Last year's European Masters Radical sports car racing runner-up Colin Noble, of Midlothian, will be hoping to improve his standing in the latest ranking at Brands Hatch this weekend.

The 48-year-old Noble has had finishes of sixth at Silverstone and eight at Spa-Francorchamps when hitting speeds of around 150 mph in 2011.

Noble moved into Radical racing in 2005-06 having started out in stock cars at the now- defunct Newtongrange track.

Relaxed about the speed element, the SR3 RS driver said: "Because we are competing on top tracks the appropriate run-offs and back-up facilities tend all to be in place."

Nevertheless, by contrast with 22 cars which line up in Formula One races an entry of 52 is expected on the grid at the Kent track this weekend for the 50-minute endurance event.
