Netball: Neville passes on coaching skills

Coaches from independent schools throughout Scotland met at Glenalmond College to take part in a course run by Tracey Neville, one of England's most capped players and sister to footballers Gary and Phil. She spent two days at the school through the company Independent Coach Education teaching beginners and advanced coaching skills.

Staff from Glenalmond, Fettes College, Hutchesons' Grammar, Kilgraston, Lomond School, Mowden Hall, Robert Gordon's College and Strathallan learned from Neville's experience as an international player and now as a top coach in the Super League with Northumbria.

Netball is due to be showcased in Scotland several times over the next few years. Glasgow will host the World Youth Netball Championships in 2013 and it will be a featured sport at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow in 2014.

Glenalmond College's head of girls' sport Carolyn Bircher said: "It's been great to have someone of Tracey's stature in the game here to give us new ideas."
