Nacho Novo fined £500 over Dons gesture

RANGERS striker Nacho Novo has been fined £500 and severely censured by a Scottish Football Association disciplinary committee for his one-fingered gesture during November's Clydesdale Bank Premier League game at Aberdeen.

The incident took place immediately after the Ibrox club's 1-0 defeat at Pittodrie on 28 November. Novo, who had come on as a substitute in the match, was also pictured with his shorts lowered.

The 30-year-old did not attend yesterday's hearing.

Novo has been struggling with an ankle injury but is expected to return to the Rangers squad for this evening's SPL encounter at St Mirren.
