Musselburgh sign Hibs kid

OLIVER RUSSELL, who was released by Hibs after lifting the SFA Youth Cup two seasons ago, has joined Musselburgh Athletic in a bid to kick-start his career.

The midfielder had an unsuccessful spell at Berwick Rangers last season and has been lured back into game by David McGlynn, manager of the Olive Bank club. "Oliver has hardly played for the last year and a half and it's a case of trying to get him fit and playing again," said McGlynn. "He needs that to happen to get him back out of the wilderness."

McGlynn, who is trying to get Paul Tansy back from East Fife, where the winger has spent most of the season on the bench, also hopes Guy Kerr can use a spell at Musselburgh to get his career back on track. The young defender, who had a spell at Inverness Caley, has been signed on loan from Berwick.

Tomorrow Musselburgh host Hill of Beath at Olive Bank (2.00pm kick-off) in the sole Super League match of the day.
