Motorsport: Di Resta says pressure is off

Bathgate's Paul di Resta bids to clinch the DTM Championship in Shanghai this weekend, but the 24-year-old Scot knows he faces a stiff challenge if he's to overcome the three-point deficit to his Mercedes team-mate, Canadian Bruno Spengler.

"Of course it's not ideal to be heading into the final race of the season three points off the lead, and behind your team-mate," Di Resta said after walking the all-new 1.5-mile street circuit in China yesterday.

"But in some ways it takes the pressure off me and puts slightly more on Bruno. It also frees me up to take a few more risks and be more aggressive. It's a completely new circuit for everyone; in fact it's so new they're still finishing building it."
