EDINBURGH’S Doug Kempsell suffered his first loss of the week as Scotland went down 3-0 to France in last night’s semi-final at the European Team Squash Championships in Amsterdam.

Kempsell was recalled to play world number 29 Greg Marche in last night’s opening rubber and the Scot tested Marche in a 43-minute battle before going down 11-9, 11-6, 11-9.

Scotland will now seek the bronze medal in a play-off with Germany.
