Camanachd Cup holders Kyles hope to learn the lessons of 2012 to mount another trophy assault.

The Tighnabruaich outfit got their new shinty campaign off to a solid start with a 3-1 win over Oban Camanachd. Scottish internatinalist Robbie MacLeod said: “We dropped a lot of points at the start last year and that hit us at the end so we are looking to get a better start this time to give ourselves a chance.”

Dunkie Kerr, Roddy MacDonald and Ewen Campbell were on the mark for Kyles with Scott McMillan grabbing a counter for Oban.

Newtonmore saw off Glen Urquhart 3-2 while Kingussie snatched the points with a 4-2 away win over Kinlochshiel.
