Port SETON captured the Scottish Inter-County Top Title for East Lothian in 2007 and the reigning champions of “The Garden County” are back in the limelight launching their bid for the Co-operative
Funeralcare-sponsored 2013 crown away to their Angus counterparts Arbroath in tomorrow’s prelim round action.

The East Lothian kingpins travel north with a formidable line-up in the shape of Craig Valentine (Singles), brothers David and Derek Oliver (Pairs), Mick Blair, Stevie Thomson and Ronnie Branley (Triples) and a Four comprising Tommy Thomson, Gordon Baillie, Jamie Gordon and Steven Morgan.

“It’s early season stuff and one hundred per cent sharpness still to be reached, but our camp is buzzing at the challenge of carrying the East Lothian banner and we aim to be on our toes for what is a tough away assignment,” said Morgan.

Winning the West Lothian Top Ten title in 2012 was one of several major highlights in the 150th Anniversary year of the Bathgate Bowling Club and a follow on bonus is to represent the WLBA banner in the high profile national championship.

Bathgate enter the scene tomorrow and enjoy home advantage against Lanarkshire champions Motherwell.
