Medal misery for robbed Rogers

AUSTRALIAN swimmer Phil Rogers, a triple Olympian and Commonwealth Games champion, has had many of his medals stolen from his home during a daylight break-in.

Breaststroker Rogers, 40, said that thieves made off with an Olympic medley relay bronze from Atlanta in 1996, two Commonwealth Games gold medals and two world championship gold medals.

He said the medals had no monetary value but “they’re of tremendous value to me because it’s 20 years of hard work”.
