McDougall and Savage fly saltire

BRITISH BOYS: Paisley teenager Alasdair McDougall and Cawder’s Jamie Savage are keeping the Scottish flag flying in the British Boys Open Amateur championship over the Notts Course in the East Midlands.

McDougall who plays out of the Elderslie Club beat German Philipp Matlari 2 and 1 and now faces France’s Romain Langasque, the leading qualifier.

Savage faced Ryan Cornfield from Enville and he clinched it on the final green – and he now clashes with Lancashire’s James Rooney. Troon’s David Wilson, Anthony Blaney of Liberton, Angus Carrick of Douglas Park, Greig Marchbank of Dumfries & County and Blairgowrie’s Bradley Neil all crashed out.
