Marshall wins Merit title

FORMER Kingsknowe golf pro Andy Marshall produced a late run to pip Borders duo Jamie Morris and Stephen Lamb in the race for the Edinburgh & East of Scotland Alliance Order of Merit title.

Marshall, who is now attached to Houston Golf Range in West Lothian, secured top spot in the rankings by finishing in a tie for fourth in the Alliance Championship at Gullane. It earned him 113 points, 19 more than Peebles pro Morris and 37 more than Lamb, who is attached to Cardrona. Marshall finished the season with 696.5 points, pipping Morris (675.5) and Lamb (667.5) in an exciting battle.

The remaining event on the Alliance calendar is the match against West at Lanark on April 2.
