Llanelli 63 - 0 London Irish: Exiles given masterclass by classy Llanelli

London Scottish crashed to their third and heaviest defeat of the British & Irish Cup campaign following a nine-try capitulation at Llanelli.

Following heavy defeats by London Welsh and Esher, they must now galvanise their pride against Melrose to avoid an embarrassing whitewash.

The writing was on the wall when Iolo Evans crossed inside three minutes, converted by Jordan Williams, and that set the tone for the rest of the tie.

Fly-half Dan Newton followed before lock Nathan White crossed twice, either side of a second for Evans, while Williams converted all the tries for an emphatic 49-0 lead at half-time.

Williams resumed the scoring spree early in the second half with a scintillating effort, though five Scottish would-be tacklers failed to prevent the try from 60 metres out. White completed his hat-trick just after the hour.

The Exiles’ scrum-half, Jonah Holmes, and No8 Willie Lipp were the best of a bad bunch, though not even the dismissals of Llanelli’s Craig Hawkins and Adam Powell could help their cause.
