Lewis Smith out to prove he's the best all-rounder

WARRENDER'S Lewis Smith is out to prove he is the best Scottish medley swimmer at the Scottish Gas National short-course Championships starting today at Tollcross Leisure Centre in Glasgow.

Smith, who now trains in Stirling, made a big breakthrough when he competed at the world championships in Rome last July and this year his big goal is the Commonwealth Games in New Delhi in October.

"I'm lucky to have New Delhi, the London 2012 Olympics and then another Commonwealth Games in Glasgow in 2014 all within the next few years," said 21-year-old Smith.

Heading the cast over the next three days is Garioch's Hannah Miley, who is chasing an incredible haul of nine gold medals.
