Letter to the sport editor: SFA ticket policy spoils family-friendly day

REALISING it was a lovely day, I thought I would take my boys of age four and two along to Hampden for the Celtic v Ross County match in the semi-finals of the Scottish Cup.

On arrival at the ticket office at Celtic Park early on Saturday morning, I was surprised to see the family section was sold out, and I would therefore have to pay more than double to sit in the normal section which I was not prepared to do.

I don't possess a crystal ball but I knew the match would not be a sell-out (backed up by the official attendance being below 25,000), and therefore beggars belief why the family section was not bigger. Do the SFA not want the future life-blood of Scottish football to have reasonably priced access to the game?
