Kyles’ sizzling form gives coach a boost

Kyles coach James Perlich believes his players will be well motivated for a top-of-the-table clash with Newtonmore this weekend after the pain of last November.

The double winners, who maintained their excellent form by hammering Kingussie 5-2 on Saturday, lost the league decider to ’More last term. Kyles were only nine minutes away from the championship on the final day in Dunoon when a Danny McRae goal dramatically secured Newtonmore the title. Some suggest that will hand Newtonmore a psychological edge going into this weekend. But, after watching his men sizzle against Kings, Perlich said: “I think that match will make them more determined this week.”

On Saturday, Kingussie struck through a Fraser Munro double, but Roddy MacDonald, Thomas Whyte (2), Dunky Kerr and Ewan Campbell secured the win for Kyles.
