Kings v Lions in Lothian final

City of Edinburgh Kings will clash with Edinburgh Lions in the Lothian men’s basketball Cup Final on Saturday, May 4, after both sides came through a hectic week of fixtures to win their semi-finals at Portobello High School on Saturday.

And they are due to clash even sooner than that when they meet in the Lothian men’s First Division on Thursday in what is a possible title-decider.

Kings gained revenge on West Lothian Wolves for their defeat in the Scottish Chairman’s Cup when they defeated Wolves
73-66 on Saturday, holding off a strong fightback by their rivals. “Wolves made a really good run in the fourth quarter but our guys played smart,” said coach Simon Flockhart, who hopes to resume for the Kings senior men against Glasgow University at the Emirates
Arena on Sunday after a month’s absence through an ankle injury.
