

Following hard on the heels of their run to the Wimbledon final, Murray and Peers clinched a 6-4, 6-7, 7-6 victory against the Americans at Flushing Meadows.
There was nothing between the pairs until the last couple of games of the third set – Peers and Murray snatched a vital break of serve only for Peers to double fault twice to lose their lead. That pushed the match towards a final tiebreak and on their second match point, Murray and Peers grabbed their victory. “My nerves are shot,” the Scot said. “We’re so happy to win and get to the final.”

Hide AdMurray and Peers will play Pierre-Hugues Herbert and Nicolas Mahut for the title tomorrow. The French pair beat Dom Inglot and Robert Lindstedt 7-5, 6-2.
