Inverleith knock out Grange to reach Scottish Cup semis

INVERLEITH playcaller Steve McCurry claims that Inverleith had under-achieved this season after they threw off their inconsistency tag to knock Edinburgh rivals Grange out of the Scottish Cup. Grange led 1-0 at Peffermill last night through Cammy Fraser but Paul Ritchie levelled before half-time and goals from Tom Cousins and Adam 
Mackenzie after the break put Inverleith in control.

Patrick Christie netted a fourth and Stuart Laing replied but Inverleith, beaten semi-finalists last season, march on to the last four.

McCurry said: “It was 
really pleasing. The boys haven’t done themselves justice this season but we stepped it up in the second-half last night.”

Elsewhere, Kelburne, the defending league champions, came from behind to earn a point in a 1-1 drew with West of Scotland rivals Western.

Scott McCartney opened the scoring from a penalty 
corner five minutes into the 
second-half and Johnny Christie 
levelled eight minutes from time.
